Create a cozy outdoor lounge
Sun and summer are finally here, which means time for outdoor coziness on the terrace! As we spend more time outdoor, it is important to create a welcoming outdoor lounge area where your beloved and you can enjoy those sunny days and warm evenings.
Cane-line's home stylist Anja Aarestrup Lund gives you 3 advices to create the coziest lounge area for your outdoor space.
Bring the indoor atmosphere outside
Our terrace has become an extension of our living room. We wish to bring the well-known cozy atmosphere from the living room to the terrace. You can simply find inspiration from homely elements, which creates a cozy and present mood. Anja recommends soft elements such as scatter cushions, plaids and sheepskin for a Nordic inspired look. You can also unify your lounge area with an outdoor rug in muted colours and tones, that gives a homely look for the lounge area.
Psst. Cane-lines rugs are designed to stay outdoor and withstands all kinds of weather and wind conditions.
Divide the terrace to a cozy oasis
Separate your lounge group from the dining area to create an intimate and cozy oasis. Create small room/oasis surrounded by green plants in pots or flower beds in planters.
Anja’s must-haves for her lounge area are lanterns and lots of them. Lanterns are terrific for lightening up the area when the darkness falls, so you can prolong the magical summer vibe. You can also add other outdoor lighting such as light chains or a fire pit for coziness and to keep warm.
Complete your oasis with soft pillows and plaids for extra comfort and coziness.
This year’s colour palette for outdoor space offers the subdued and calm earth tones of nature. Common for these shades are, that they are all to find in our lovely nature. Earth tones are already to find inside most homes, but this year these tones have found their way to the garden and terrace area. The earthy shades provide a soothing and natural interplay to the surroundings of the outdoor space.
You can also look forward to seeing dusty colours, especially green shades will be a hit this season.
Psst. Anja predicts that we will see stronger colours in our home decorating in the upcoming seasons..
